SalsaContact is an app and website by [company name], [company address], VAT [VAT number] (“we”). This policy explains which personal data we process when you use the app or the website, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

[company name] is the data controller. Questions about this policy or about your data go to support@salsacontact.be.

What data we process

Website visitors without an account: we process only what is technically needed to show a page, such as your IP address in server logs and to limit abuse. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Users with an account in the app:

• Identifiers: your email address and an internal user id, to create your account and sign you in.
• Profile: your display name and, if you fill them in, your city, dance role, dance styles, bio and profile photo.
• Content you post: events, flyers, photos, posts from your dance school, and whether you are going to an event (RSVP). Events, flyers and dance schools are public and also appear on this website.
• Location: approximate coordinates of the place of an event you create, or of you when you browse the agenda near you. We do not keep a history of your position.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and technical logs, to fix errors.

Why, and on what basis

• Providing the service you accept when you create your account (performance of a contract): account, profile, agenda, RSVPs.
• Our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working: server logs, abuse prevention, crash reports.
• Your consent, when you give it in the app, for push notifications.

Who else sees the data

We do not sell data. We use processors that host or process data on our behalf:

• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): the servers the app and the website run on.
• S3-compatible object storage: the photos and flyers you upload.
• Expo (Expo, Inc.): push notifications and the app’s technical operation.
• Google Maps Platform: showing maps and looking up addresses. Google may process your IP address under its own privacy policy.

What you post publicly (events, flyers, your name as an organizer) is visible to everyone, with or without an account, through the app and through this website.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and profile as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we erase your profile and personal data. Events you organized stay in the agenda under an anonymized organizer, so other dancers keep their agenda. Server logs are kept for at most 30 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct and erase your data, restrict its processing, or receive it in a common format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Email support@salsacontact.be. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.

Minimum age

The app is intended for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
